LMUSAR Minimum Initial Training Requirements
LMUSAR - LOUISVILLE METRO URBAN SEARCH & RESCUE

Below are the minimum initial training requirements for LMUSAR, and some of the
online resources where the training may be completed:

  • NIMS (National Incident Management System)

  • Basic Medical Training – First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens OR EMT
  • Please see your local / in-house emergency medical training parties

  • Hazardous Materials

  • WMD (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical)

  • Technical Rescue – Confined Space, Structural Collapse, Trench, Water

For new team members, copies of any certificates of completion should be sent in with
your team application.

For current team members, copies of any certificates of completion should be sent to
Captain Meiman so they can be placed on file.
